A Way To Do Something... Different?

December 19, 20242 min read

How does anyone make a decision to do something that goes against all their previous patterns?

Said differently, how might one make a change in their life?

To understand the how, it could be useful to establish some ideas on why.

Your IDENTITY influences your PERSPECTIVE. Your perspective influences your THOUGHTS. Your thoughts influence your EMOTIONS. Your emotions influence your OUTPUT.

Output in this context is our actions, performance, and behaviors.

So... if we can imagine that could be true, what might that mean about how we create change in our life?

Let's talk about identity.

Identity is deeply rooted and could be thought about in 3 ways.

1: Our programming. This is established through everything that influenced us in our early forming years and on. The way we were born, our parents and what they thought during that process and how they brought us into life. Everything we learned after birth from anything you could deem external to us, be that our environment with every stimulus you could imagine, or how we connected with anyone around us. All the education and learning we received and the DIET we consumed and currently consume.

2: Our core values. These are guides, bumpers, things we naturally gravitate towards.

3: Our self-image. How we see ourselves and our abilities.

So... might it be helpful to dive into our identity so we can check in on what our perspective is? Could this then help us form new thoughts so we can experience new emotions that could lead to new behaviors? What if new behaviors created new actions and overall new performance in our life.

Performance = Output

Output = Where we create change.

You get to decide.

What is your current self-image?

What are your core values?

What was the programming that created it all?

How might all of this created purpose and how you create meaning in life?

How might you begin to become aware of all of this to ultimately create sustainable change?

Maybe this is A way to....

DO SOMETHING DIFFERET.

See ya out there.

How it can become a place to receive coaching and feedback, to be vulnerable and struggle with others. He believes it's a place to learn, grow, and adapt in many more ways than simply improving ones body. He believes in a holistic approach to fitness.
